Man Utd boss Moyes leaves Lewandowski to Chelsea

Manchester United boss David Moyes has told club chiefs to end their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.

The Daily Star says United have been tracking him for 18 months and had an £18m bid rejected when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge.

But Moyes has told United bosses he doesn’t want another out-and-out striker.

A club source said: “Lewandowski has been a target but the new manager can’t see where he would fit into the team. Other areas of the squad need strengthening and so the manager has turned his back on Lewandowski so the manager has turned his back on Lewandowski once and for all."

Chelsea and Barcelona are also keen on Lewandowski, who denies reports he's committed to Bayern Munich.

iROKING Fires Michael Ugwu For Alleged Gross Misconduct

iROKING is the sister company to iROKOtv which is both owned by Jason Njoku. Just like iROKOtv is known for Nollywood movies, iROKING was built in line for music. They wanted another great platform for music just like they have with iROKOtv and made Michael Ugwu the CEO of iROKING. Something went wrong between him and Jason earlier this month and he was fired. Nothing was heard from both sides until today, when Jason Njoku's team made a press release. Michael who felt not all what they said was true, decided to say his own part and informed the public he will be starting something else pretty soon. Sadly, Michael is one of Nigeria’s leading young tech executives and Jason Njoku is also one of the best in what he does. Hope they resolve this soon. Find their statements below...

We can confirm that Michael Ugwu is no longer the CEO of iROKING and has left the company. He was dismissed earlier this month with immediate effect for gross misconduct. It came to light that, whilst under contract and salary of iROKING, Michael Ugwu set up and launched his own digital music platform, in direct competition with iROKING. This is an unequivocal breach of the robust non-compete and confidentiality clause he signed when he joined the iROKO team. We will not be divulging any further details on the subject matter for legal reasons.

A number of the iROKING staff have also been dismissed on the grounds of gross misconduct. This action, alongside the dismissal of Michael Ugwu, was taken by the iROKO Management team in order to protect the intellectual property and reputation of our online music platform, as well as our artists’ work.

As part of an organisation-wide restructure, we have decided to streamline the iROKING team based in Lagos, and have now redistributed a number of the core tasks across our global teams in London and New York. These changes have been made in order to make the strategic and day-to-day running of iROKING more effective and productive.

Those who left the company have been given a generous six weeks’ severance pay, which is 50% more than stated in their employee contracts.

iROKING, as one of Nigeria’s leading digital music platforms, continues to showcase some of the country’s most prolific and exciting artists. Since launch, we have recorded over 350 Million YouTube hits for our artists and we have over 1.1 Million users downloading tracks from our online and mobi platforms every month. We remain committed to our artists and our users and continue on our mission to support and develop digital distribution for Nigerian artists. We expect to announce a new CEO for iROKING in the coming months.


Michael's Response

I would like to state for the record that a decision to wind down iROKING was taken before the iROKO management “apparently’” fired me. I was verbally asked to become COO of Spark Ltd which I summarily refused stating my intention to stay in the music space. It has been clear for some time that iROKO Partners wanted to exit the music space culminating in the winding down of iROKING so I am still fully trying to understand how I would set up a platform to compete with a platform that was to be “scrapped” according to Mr Jason Njoku.

For the record I would like to see physical evidence of the digital platform I have set up. A copy of the apparent companies registration will suffice. I also strongly suggest to the management of iROKO Partners that rather than sending out press releases and writing blog posts on their personal blogs they should first tidy their house and/or pursue serious legal action.

In the land of iROKO I guess restructuring means getting out of a sector. Nigerian artists please beware of iROKO Partners apparent commitment to developing the digital distribution space. (Please see attached screenshot)

   
In the Ventures Africa blog post I was fortunate enough to read Jason Njoku’s mention of a 6 week “generous” severance package for iROKO staff however to date all the iROKO staff affected in this saga have not received such. I implore serious investigative journalists to verify his claims. Seek out former staff and ask questions.

I believe that Jason Nkoju has possibly spent far too long distributing Nollywood films online so much so that some of the sensationalist story lines influence him.

If iROKO Partners wishes to pursue legal actions I suggest they do such or I will see this is flagrant defamation of character.

Last year iROKO Partners Lagos had circa 80 staff, now there are circa 15 remaining. At a time many of us were loyal to the iROKO cause, however serious structural issues have arisen so much so that many have felt it safer to find employment elsewhere. I wish the remaining staff members and management the best of luck in their future endeavours.

A healthy v**ina is equivalent to a healthy woman. So, it is very important that all women should be concerned about their vaginal health. If you want to protect yourself from common yeast infections and vaginal odour, then follow these simple Ten Commandments to keep your v**ina healthy.


Never use soap – At times, the odour of your v**ina can be very overpowering embarrassing, but at these times, avoid cleaning your pubic area with soap or liquid cleanser. The v**ina can stay clean by itself, as our body has a system for it. Also, during menstruation, just wash it with water to maintain good hygiene.

Stay away from vaginal sprays – You might think that using a floral spray on your v**ina, will give it a sweet-smelling scent, but this could actually ruin the pH level of your v**ina and cause irritation and other problems.

Maintain good hygiene during your periods – For a healthy v**ina, it is very important to follow proper hygiene during menstruation. Never use your sanitary napkins for too long. It absorbs blood and if used for a longer duration it can cause bacteria build-up and lead to rashes and irritation.

Wear cotton panties – Choose cotton panties over other material as they dry quickly and also allows passage of air, which further helps in preventing yeast infections due to damp conditions. So, avoid fancy underwear made from fabrics like lace, silk or synthetic material.

Wear loose clothes – Wearing tight clothes like skinny pants usually traps moisture and can lead to yeast infection and rashes. So, it is very important to wear loose-fitting clothes.


Trim pubic hair – Maintain good vaginal health by regularly trimming your pubic hair. Excess hair around your v**ina can create a moist environment, which can cause bacteria to grow leading to infection.

Do kegel exercises – Kegel exercise will help to strengthen your pelvic muscles and also help you enjoy s*x. While you urinate, try stopping your urine midstream, by tightening your muscles for few seconds and then release them.

Drink plenty of water – The best way to keep your v**ina healthy is by drinking water at regular intervals. Water helps to throw out bacteria present in the body in the form of urine, and helps in boosting your vaginal health.—

Check strange vaginal behaviour – If you notice a strange, smelly vaginal discharge, excess itching or unusual colour then it is important that you treat these symptoms by consulting your doctor, in order to prevent it from getting worse.

Go for a Pap Smear – Since cancer is on the rise, it is best to prevent it rather than treat it. The best way to prevent cancer of the cervix is to take a pap smear test at least once a year or as advised by your doctor. This will save your life and keep your v**ina healthy.

Will Smith And Wife Might Be Heading For Divorce Soon

For three months now, the singer, actor and movie producer is said to be living separately from his wife, and have put their family home up for sale.

The couple who have been married for 15 years, have two kids; Jaden and Willow, although Smith has a 20-year-old son; Trey, from his previous marriage to actress Sheree Fletcher.

News of the crack in their marriage came as a surprise to fans, who have considered the couple to be having one of the most solid marriages in Hollywood. Indication to the mishap surfaced early in the year, when Jada reportedly suggested that their marriage was on the rocks.

"When you are going through a storm with your spouse, stop thinking about what you 'believe' a husband or wife should be," said Jada, according to a fellow audience member at a charity event.

The actor, who is trending with his current futuristic science thriller, After Earth, is said to be in New Orleans, filming his latest movie Focus, while Jada is believed to have moved into her brother Caleeb's home in Los Angeles. This is not the first time the couple has been hit by rumours of marital problems.

In April the Hawthorne actress said Will could do "whatever he wants" in their marriage, but later added in a post on Facebook that this did not mean they had an open relationship. It is not clear what the problem between the two is.

Only recently, Jada praised her husband's parenting efforts: "There are some men who feel like, 'Listen, I take care of the house and the home. That's all I need to do. What makes Will the best father in the world to me is that he's there, not just there in a way that's traditional; the emotional support he offers his children is immeasurable," said Jada

Actress Liz Anjorin explains why she dumped christianity for Islam

Popular actress Liz Anjorin surprised many recently when photos of her on Muslim Pilgrimage to Mecca surfaced online. She later announced that she was changing her religion from Christianity to Islam. She also dropped the name Elizabeth and announced that she would like to be addressed as Aisha, in light with her new religion. Liz has finally opened up about why she made the decision..

"It happened in a miraculous way which I have been expecting for long, not that I woke up yesterday and decided to change my religion. By birth, I was half Muslim and half Christian. My father was Christian while my mum was Muslim. Growing up I went to church because of my father. I didn't have a choice at the time but I have always had interest in Islam so immediately my father died I switched over to my mum's religion. It is a religion I love so much. Also Aisha is now my official name though Liz is still my name and I will continue to use the name to do movies.
